Church Greeters
What is a greeter? First off, there is a difference in being a greeter and being an usher. Both of them are important. Our goal is to have more greeters at all entrances at all Masses.
A greeter arrives at the entrance of the Church before the people. The greeter is there to welcome them, to say hello, good morning or evening... love your hat etc. The greeter is there with a warm handshake and a welcoming smile. They want people to feel at home and know this is their Church. We are all here to worship the Lord, but seeing old friends is important too.
If you see someone without a smile... Give them one of yours... they will smile back. It's contagious.
We live in a very unusual area. We meet many visitors from all over the United States and Canada. We receive many phone calls and letters praising our greeters and wonderful ushers. We are growing so if you want to get involved please give us a call.
