Update from the Faithful Navigator March, 2012 Bi-Annual Report Bishop Scanlon Assembly
#2393 St George, UT The Bishop Scanlon
Assembly covers the Parishes of Cedar City, UT; St George, UT; Mesquite, NV and
all their Missions. We presently have a
total of 121 Members of which 10 are Honorary Life Members.
In
the past 2 years we have been very active providing services to our Parishes and
Communities. We have supported the
Ladies Groups of our Parishes with their Dinners and other Functions by helping
them with setup and teardown. We
have supported our Parish Thrift Stores as Managers and Volunteers at the Stores
and their Fashion Shows. We have
supported our Communities in such ways as Volunteering at the local law
enforcement agencies and the soup kitchen.
We provided Financial
Support to help furnish the new Veterans Home being built in our area, to help
support a Seminarian through the RSVP program, and to the Wheelchair Foundation. Annually, we Honor our
Fallen Knights at a Mass and Honor their Wives with a Corsage and Breakfast.
We supported the Veneration of Relics at the Mesquite and St George
Parishes with Guides and the Honor Guard.
We designed and paid for a Sign at the Beryl Junction Mission and also
annually do a cleanup there. We probably have the most
active Honor Guard in our District.
We have 34 members in our Honor Guard.
Over the past 2 years, we have served at and supported 71 Functions
including 1st Communions, Confirmations, Funerals, Feast of
Guadalupe, and Honoring our new Deacon in Kanab.
We also participated in Patriotic Functions such as the Dedication of the
new Veterans Memorial in Sun River, Remembering 911 in Mesquite, Special
Olympics Opening Ceremony, Veterans Day Parades and Pearl Harbor Day Honoring
the Pearl Harbor Survivors. Submitted by David Arndt,

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 Sir Knights; The second half of our fraternal year is coming to a close.
Elections were held as per Supreme Guidelines. I am happy to report that David
Arndt will be the Faithful Navigator for this next term. David is a very loyal
Knight and has served in many capacities. He is very knowledgeable and will do
an outstanding job. I will be
returning to serve as the Faithful Comptroller. Even though the fraternal year
is now closing, the Honor Guard still has a busy schedule. As I bring my
official term to a close, I have been blessed to have an amazing group of Men (&
Women) support all the Knights of God Bless and
” March on”. I am also
delighted to announce that “Father Bob” in The NEXT
meeting will be
God Bless, and thanks for all your support

Monday, February 14, 2011 Sir Knights; The second half of our fraternal year has arrived and after a
very active first half enjoy the little breather! Now is the time for ALL Sir
Knights to assist their councils in the upcoming 2nd & 3rd degrees in Mesquite,
NV. This is a wonderful opportunity for “Eligible 3rd degree
Knights to become “Sir Knights”. As many
of us are aware the 4th degree Exemplification does NOT occur often. Close
communication will be necessary for advancement to occur.
This is a golden opportunity hopefully we don’t miss. The
Assembly is running smoothly and second dues billing will be complete next week.
I am encouraged that we have received a majority of payments. The Honor guard
will become busy again soon. The Bishop will be in St. George Feb 27th. The next
normal events will be 1st communions and confirmations. Let’s also start thinking who will next take the lead of this
magnificent Assembly 2393 and grow it some more.
The God Bless, and thanks for all your support
